For the start of my concentration series, I began by taking pictures of some food that my dad and I made over the weekend. I experimented with angles, colors, macro, and texture so the food that I took pictures of had very rich detail and looked delicious. So far, I think the photos I took are well taken. In the future, I would like to take more pictures of my family and friends around food in stead of just my dad. The only reason I did was because no one else was home at the time my dad and I were making dinner.
My concentration series is on the color and texture of a variety of foods both traditional and non-traditional. For my principles of design, will be using a lot of macro and point of view shots. Along with that, I will be using color and texture shots to present the very rich detail in the foods I use for my photos. I chose this concentration idea because my family revolves around all sorts of food, and because the heart of our home and family is in our kitchen.

Nice start to your concentration! I love your experimentation with eye levels and scale. I think your choice of warm colors is effective at creating the mood you are looking for as well. You might want to try a more flattering light source to high light the food. You can research food photography online. Here's a great link on National Geographic's website to get you started:
